Costume jewellery can be extremely delicate, it’s important to treat it with the same level of care you would precious jewellery to ensure is longevity and your pieces stay looking fabulous. Below are a few tips to help with this:
One of the most important things is when dressing, jewellery should always be put on last, as make-up, cosmetics and perfumes can cause damage to the jewellery. Make sure skin is dry to the touch, before putting on your jewellery.
In order to preserve your jewellery, Keep all pieces in its own individual box or pouch to prevent it from becoming scratched, dented or tangled. Pouches will be provided when you order from us. keep your pieces away from direct sunlight and store in a cool place
Avoid contact with water: It will affect the appearance of metal, stones, crystals and pearls. The water can wear plating and cause discoloration. Remove your Jewellery before washing your hands and never wear any costume jewellery when you shower or swim.
To keep crystals sparkling, simply wipe very gently with a slightly damp cloth. You should rarely need to do this if you follow all other steps. otherwise lightly wipe with a dry cloth as needed
Never struggle with your jewellery, ask someone to fasten your bracelet rather than tackling it yourself. Holding your bracelet close to your body and pulling on clasps puts unnecessary strain on links which could lead to the piece becoming damaged.
